DRY NEEDLING

Dry Needling and Cupping Therapy
Helping tight muscles relax and move more comfortably
Dry needling and cupping are two techniques that can be used alongside chiropractic treatment to help reduce muscle tension, improve movement and support recovery.
Dry Needling
Dry needling involves the use of very fine needles to target tight or overactive muscles. It can help:
• Reduce muscle tension and trigger points
• Improve movement and flexibility
• Ease aches and pains
• Support recovery from injury
Many people compare dry needling to acupuncture because similar needles are used, however the assessment and treatment approach are different. Dry needling is based on addressing muscle and movement dysfunction rather than traditional acupuncture principles.
Dry needling is rarely used as a stand-alone treatment. Instead, I may combine it with chiropractic care, soft tissue therapy and rehabilitation exercises to help you achieve the best results.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy uses suction cups placed on the skin to help improve blood flow, reduce muscle tension and encourage relaxation of the surrounding tissues.
It can be particularly helpful for:
• Tight shoulders and neck muscles
• Upper and lower back tension
• Sports and gym-related muscle soreness
• General muscular aches and stiffness
The circular marks sometimes seen after treatment are normal and usually fade within a few days.
Is Dry Needling or Cupping Right For You?
Every treatment plan is tailored to your individual needs and goals. Some people benefit from dry needling or cupping, while others achieve excellent results without them.
During your appointment, we'll discuss the options available and decide on the approach that best suits you.
