Strength Training and Chiropractic Care in South Queensferry

Training at the gym but something doesn't feel quite right?

Whether you're just stepping into the gym for the first time, getting back into training after a break, or you've been lifting for years, strength training is one of the best things you can do for your body.

It builds muscle, supports bone density, improves balance, boosts mood, and makes everyday life feel easier. But like anything physical, it also comes with challenges. Things can feel tight. Technique can feel off. Old niggles can creep back in. And sometimes your body just doesn’t move as well as you’d like.

That’s where chiropractic care fits in.

It’s not just about pain

A lot of people think of seeing a chiropractor as something you do when something goes wrong. And yes, I absolutely help with that.

But some of the most valuable work I do is with people who are training consistently and want to stay that way.

When your joints are moving well, your muscles can do their job properly. Your technique improves more naturally. Your body handles progressive loading better.

Regular chiropractic care helps keep everything working as it should so you can train well, recover better, and stay consistent.

If you’re just starting out in the gym

Starting strength training is a brilliant decision but it does ask a lot from your body.

New movement patterns, unfamiliar loads, and muscles working in ways they haven’t before can leave you feeling stiff, tight, or a bit beaten up in the early weeks.

Getting assessed early means we can pick up on movement restrictions or imbalances and address them before they slow your progress.

If you’ve been training for a while

A lot of gym-goers carry small issues that build up over time. A hip that’s always a bit stiff. A shoulder that clicks. A lower back that flares after certain lifts.

These things are common but they’re not inevitable.

Often there’s a restriction somewhere in the movement chain that’s driving the issue. When you find it and address it, it can make a noticeable difference not just to the niggle, but to how your whole body feels when you train.

If you’re starting strength training later in life

More people in their 40s, 50s and beyond are discovering strength training and it’s one of the best things they can do for long term health.

But bodies with years of desk work, old injuries, or hormonal changes behind them often need a bit more support to move well under load.

Chiropractic care works really well alongside strength training here, helping improve joint mobility, reduce stiffness, and manage the aches that can come with adapting to something new.

What to expect when you see me

I don’t just look at where it hurts.

I look at how you move, where you’re restricted, what your training looks like, and what your body needs to perform better.

I combine chiropractic care with my background in sports therapy, so the advice you get is practical and relevant to your training.

I treat from South Queensferry (27 High Street) and Kilo Gym in Dalmeny on Thursday mornings. Convenient for South Queensferry, Dalmeny, Kirkliston, Winchburgh and North Queensferry.

If you’re training and something doesn’t feel quite right, or you just want to make sure you’re moving well, you can book a free 15 minute chat and we’ll see if I can help.
