What happens at your first chiropractic appointment?
Updated: Aug 16

If you’ve never been to a chiropractor before, it’s completely normal not to know what to expect.
For a lot of people, that uncertainty is what stops them booking in.
The focus of your first appointment
The first appointment is all about understanding what’s going on.
This includes:
talking through your symptoms and history
looking at how you move
assessing what might be contributing to the problem
It’s not rushed, and there’s time to ask questions.
Will I get treatment on the first visit?
In most cases, yes.
If it’s appropriate, treatment can begin at the first appointment. This depends on what’s right for you.
What does treatment involve?
Treatment is always tailored to you.
This may include:
hands-on treatment
movement and rehab exercises
advice based on your day-to-day activities
It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach.
What if I’m unsure?
You don’t have to commit to anything before you’re ready.
If you’re unsure whether chiropractic care is right for you, you’re always welcome to get in touch first, or book a free 15 minute no obligation appointment.
Local appointments
Appointments are available in South Queensferry, with additional clinic times in Dalmeny.
Patients often travel from across Fife and surrounding areas of Edinburgh for care.
If you’re nearby and considering getting something checked, this is a good place to start.
